Canadian Transfer and Agawa Canyon deliver salt on Dec. 13
Friday night through Saturday morning was a busy time for the Port of Marinette. While the Melissa Desgagnes was still unloading pig iron at Marinette Fuel & Dock Friday night, the Canadian Transfer arrived around 8:30 p.m. with a load of salt, but had to anchor out in the bay until the Melissa Desgagnes departed. About a half hour later, the Agawa Canyon, also carrying salt, arrived and anchored out in the bay. The Melissa Desgagnes finished unloading and backed out of the harbor around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning. By 3:30 a.m., the Canadian Transfer was at the dock and began unloading its salt cargo, finishing around 8:15 a.m. The Canadian Transfer then backed out of the harbor, turned around out in the bay, and passed the inbound Agawa Canyon, which arrived at the dock around 10 a.m.
