James L. Kuber/Victory Depart Winter Lay-Up on April 15

The barge, James L. Kuber, pushed by the tug, Victory, departed KK Integrated Logistics dock shortly before 6 p.m. After passing through the Ogden Street (Menekaunee) Bridge, the Marinette Sheriff Dept. was on hand in their small craft to chase fishing boats out of the channel between Menominee North Pier Lighthouse pier and Government Pier in Marinette. The warning was given, "This is the Marinette County Sheriff Dept. Clear the channel!" The fishermen did as they were told, and the whole departure went smoothely. Kudos to the Marinette County Sheriff Dept. for a job well done!! (Fishing craft have caused many ships some anxious moments over the past few years when they are slow to move out of the way)
