Alpena prepares to enter the Poe Lock on Sept. 30

It's been over a year since I was last at the Soo; but I finally got back for a little over 4 days on Sept. 30. The weather that Friday was mostly cloudy. Then, on Saturday and Sunday, there were two perfect days with blue skies and temps in the lower 70's (Oh! ... and a lot of ships, too)! Monday brought back a gloomy, overcast day; however, there were a few ships around so all was not lost. Tuesday was overcast and rainy, so I decided to pull up stakes and head for home. All-in-all it was a relaxing, enjoyable trip. I saw some ships that I had never photographed before: John B. Aird, Algosar (ex-Gemini), Cinnamon, Peter R. Cresswell, Federal Kivalina, USCG Katmai Bay, Pytheas, Wolverine and Ziemia Cieszynska. Hope you enjoy the photos!

109 Photos from a trip to the Soo from Sept. 30 - Oct. 4, 2005.
