BBC Rio Grande Finally Enters Port

On Tuesday, April 27, after laying at anchor in the bay of Green Bay off Menominee for over 30 hours, the ship finally caught a break when the wind direction shifted into a favorable direction for them to attempt to enter port. The tug, Jimmy L, headed out to the ship and proceeded to guide them into the harbor, through the Ogden Street (Menekaunee) Bridge, and finally to their destination: KK Integrated Logistics East Dock. The ship is carrying a load of wind turbine towers produced by General Electric in Quebec, which in turn are trucked to Becancour (approximately halfway between Quebec and Montreal) where they are loaded onto the ships for transport here. This is the first load of this type since the BBC Elbe delivered the last load on October 24, 2008.
