BBC Rio Grande Delayed Again By Wind

Sunday June 6 - The BBC Rio Grande arrived in the bay off Menominee with yet another load of wind turbine towers. Once again, there was a fairly strong wind blowing; but, with the tug, Jimmy L, assisting, the decision was made to attempt to get into port and through the Ogden Street (Menekaunee) Bridge to KK Integrated Logistics. The tug assisted in turning the ship around out in the bay, passed a towline to the ship, and headed in past Menominee North Pier Lighthouse all the way into the inner harbor. The bridge was opened for the duo; but, it was decided at that point that the wind was too strong to attempt passage through the bridge. The Jimmy L backed toward the stern of the ship, retrieved its line and then the ship headed back out through the piers and out into the bay of Green Bay to anchor out for the night. That is three times in four trips by this vessel that wind has delayed its passage into port. Monday June 7 - The BBC Rio Grande, with the assistance of the tug, Jimmy L, arrived at KK Integrated Logistics early in the morning to unload its cargo of wind turbine towers.
