James L. Kuber/Victory Head In For Winter Lay-Up On January 15

This two-part slideshow depicts the tug & barge, James L. Kuber/Victory, assisted by the tug, Erika Kobasic, arriving for winter lay-up at KK Integrated Logistics. The first slideshow begins with photos of their arrival in the bay of Green Bay off Menominee around noontime. They were led down the bay by the Basic Marine tug, Erika Kobasic. After stopping in the bay off Menominee North Pier Lighthouse, the Erika Kobasic began the task of cutting a turning basin out of the ice, which only reached a thickness of 6 - 8 inches. Once the ice was broken, the tug & barge began turning around while the Kobasic headed in to break ice in the inner harbor. They then headed back out to assist the tug & barge before heading back up the Menominee River to break ice (3 - 4 inches thick) all the way up to KK Integrated Logistics, the tug & barge's final destination.
