Vessel Movements At KK Integrated Logistics and Marinette Marine On Dec. 11

After the Jimmy L assisted the G-Tug, Ohio, and its barge, CBC-1268, into port on Saturday, its job was hardly finished. Fleetmate, Susan L, arrived just as the Jimmy L was putting the finishing touches on nudging the CBC-1268 in to the KK Integrated Logistics East Dock. The pair then headed up-river toward Marinette Marine Corp. where they broke tracks in the ice in front of the USS Fort Worth (LCS-3) in preparation for moving the vessel down-river. After tracks were broken in the ice, the USS Fort Worth was moved about 400-ft. down-river along the Marinette Marine dock. This move was necessitated by the next move - moving the barge (ex-railroad carfloat), Manitowoc, from KK's West Dock over to Marinette Marine. After the two tugs moved the USS Fort Worth, the Jimmy L headed back to KK Integrated Logistics to pick up the Manitowoc while the Susan L followed a little later to assist in moving the barge. The two tugs moved the Manitowoc to the dock space recently vacated by the USS Fort Worth. After docking the barge, there was one more piece of business to take care of - head back to KK Integrated Logistics and move the tug, Snohomish up-river to the dock vacated by the Manitowoc. After that, the two tugs headed back to Sturgeon Bay and a very bumpy ride home, as winds were strong out of the northeast and huge white caps were the order of the day for the bay of Green Bay.
