One More Load of Wind Towers Arrive At KK Integrated Logistics On Dec. 11

The Great Lakes Towing (GLT) tug, Ohio, arrived in Menominee with the barge, CBC-1268, loaded with more wind turbine tower sections Saturday morning. The Selvick tug, Jimmy L, was on hand to assist the tow into port. After stopping at Marinette Fuel & Dock for a short time, the Jimmy L led the barge, with the tug, Ohio, pushing, out into the river when their towing line parted. The Ohio was able to hold the barge against a strong northeast wind that pushed them back toward the dock they had just left. The Jimmy L turned around and helped get the barge back to the dock without further incident. About an hour later, they were ready to try again, and this time everything went off without a hitch. After passing through the Ogden Street (Menekaunee) Bridge, the tow headed up the Menominee River past KK Integrated Logistics East Dock.
