Tug, Donald C, and 2 Barges Loaded With Rock Depart Menominee On Oct. 3

The tug & barges that have been transporting large rock loads from KK Integrated Logistics for a Lake Michigan project departed Menominee mid-afternoon today. This is the first time that the tug & barges has either arrived or departed during daylight hours; so, it was nice to finally get some photos of them away from the dock. The barges were fully loaded by early yesterday morning, but strong winds kept them in port. The tug will push the barges across the bay of Green Bay down to Sturgeon Bay, WI. After transiting the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal, the tug will move from the stern of the barges and take up position ahead of them, taking them in tow for their trip down Lake Michigan.
