The Fountain in the park at the Soo Locks is always a popular attraction; however, it is more spectacular at night. Click the photo to see the fountain all lit up at night.
400-plus photos from a trip to the Soo Locks from June 24 - June 30, 2010 including "Engineer's Day" (Friday June 25). Well everyone, another year has passed and another "Engineer's Day" has come and gone. The weather didn't cooperate for much of the trip; however, I still came back home with over 1300 photos. I have chosen about 400 to share with you. There are photos from the festivities of "Engineer's Day" itself, including a special gallery of placards featuring text and photos of the progress on the New Soo Lock! I also took a tour of the Valley Camp Museum Ship on this trip, and there is a special gallery of some of the things to see aboard an old Great Lakes ship. The lifeboats from the ill-fated Edmund Fitzgerald, which sank in a tumultuous storm on Lake Superior on November 10, 1975, are an important part of the many displays. I only photographed one "new" ship and a couple tugs (ones which I had never before seen) on this trip; but, vessels were in fairly plentiful supply on most days. I hope you enjoy the new gallery!!
